2009 World Police and Fire Games: Canada, British Columbia, Vancouver: 31 July 2009 – 09 August 2009

The 13TH WPFG was held at Vancouver, BC, this games are held every second year in 2007 the games were held in Australia, Adelaide.

This games are for the Law enforcement in the world such as the Police, Fireman, Corrections and Customs. Department of Correctional Services sends the National team of 140 participants including management for 2009 WPFG. The 2009 WPFG has attracted 10500 participants, 65 sporting code and 55 venues.

Correctional Services Martial Arts team had an opportunity to train with Kyoshi Shihan George Chan- KUYUKAI World Vice President and Canana/America Chief Instructor.

DCS 140 Team South Africa was captained by Shihan Humphrey Skosana and DCS Martial Arts team achieves the following.

  • Humphrey Skosana > 2nd Place Masters Kumite, 3rd Place Snr Black Belt Kata, 3RD Place Unison Kata & Team Kumite
  • Jan Badenhorst > 3RD Place Team & Unison Kata
  • Ursula Skosana > 1ST Place Ladies team Kumite & 3RD Place ind Kumite
  • Mantwa Motse > 1ST Place Ladies team Kumite, 2ND Place ind Kumite & 2ND Place Unison Kata
  • Gavin Dyers > 3rd Place Open (Taekwondo)
  • DCS Team South achieves 216 medals.
